Description
Technical Specs/Installation
Stainless Steel fork extensions for Honda Fury (shown in unpolished condition)
remove wheel by taking off the brake caliper, taking out the axle bolt, pulling the axle and rolling the wheel out
take the fender off by removing the four bolts, 2 on each inside fender
do each side separately
loosen the pinch bolts on both top and bottom tree
slide the fork out of the top tree assembly carefully, should slide out easily, keep it in the bottom tree, reclamp in the bottom tree only with just the cap above the bottom tree. This will act as a vise so you can unscrew the fork cap.
take loose the stock cap, there is a metering rod on the inside a
that threads into the cap, this rod has a lock nut under the stock cap.
use a second wrench to hold this nut so you can remove just the stock cap, you can gain access to this nut by forcing the lower tube up until you can get the wrench on that nut.
if you are careful and don't move that nut it will serve as the length stop
transfer the o-ring from the stock cap to the new extensions, now simply screw on the new Stainless Steel extension to the stop nut, locking it onto the extension cap.
loosen the lower pinch bolts and slide the tube with the new extension either flush to the top of the stock tree, or bottomed out in the new SumoX triple tree assembly
repeat for the opposite side
re-install fender but don't fully tighten those bolts until after the wheel is installed
roll the wheel back in with the rotor on the left side, slide the axle in and torque the bolt to 50-60lb/ft. A drop or 2 of blue loctite wouldn't hurt.
finish tightening the fender bolts
make sue all pinch bolts are tightened on both halves and both sides or the triple tree assembly.
reinstall the caliper if you haven't already done that
RIDE SAFE!
